I've been tagged!

I've been tagged by Amber at Baby Boogaloo to do my first meme! How exciting!

The Rules: Write a blog entry with 10 weird, random, facts, habits or goals about yourself.

Andddddddd.... GO!

1. I love calculus and physics. I really regret not pursuing something in either of those areas for my degree. Before having Jackson, I even contemplated taking a calculus course at the community college to brush up - for fun.

2. I have a minor in Chemistry.

3. Nick and I met for the first time in class. It was Dr. Abaye's Plant Materials for Environmental Restoration in the Spring of 2000. He thought I was his ex-girlfriend when he first saw me from the back - he was sitting behind me. I had the same bag as she did, with the same color hair. I continued to have a HUGE crush on him for more than a year, before we finally started dating.

4. I'm terrified of the supernatural. TERRIFIED! I have goosebumps just typing that.

5. I love chocolate and orange juice together. Eat some chocolate, have a nice tall glass of OJ.

6. I used to know how to play Yanni on the piano. And Toad the Wet Sprocket.

7. My dad really wanted to name me Kelly. My mom really wanted to name me Meredith. My dad was not there when my mom put Meredith down as the name on my birth certificate. Mom won.

8. I played varsity tennis all 4 years in high school. I was also a member of the Dance Co, and on the Pom Squad.

9. Jackson and I were born at the same hospital.

10. I had 4 cotton blankies when I was a baby. I think they were from Carter's. I slept with them until I went away to college. They were pretty much rags by that point. Jack has one now (don't worry, it's new). Sometimes I want to steal it and sleep with it myself :).

That was fun! Now I get to tag four people. I tag...

Pro pics

This past Sunday we traveled to my friend Amber's house in VA for a photo session extravaganza! Amber has started her own photography biz, and offered to take some pictures of Jackson. It was so much fun! You can visit her photo blog to check out some of the pictures. We're so happy with them, and will have a hard time choosing which prints to order fo sho! We also got in some playtime, since this was the first time Jack and Carter met. Carter was born the day after Jack. Aren't they so cute together???

Parents of the Year

No really.... :).

Disclaimer: We were right next to him the whole time, and YES, they have childproof caps.

(and they make excellent rattles, FYI!)

My love

Reesie P. We just love her (and her wonderful parent :-P)!! On our way back from Rural Retreat, we stopped back in Blacksburg to visit the P's and have some lunch! Both babies we're due for a nap before long, but we still had a great time visiting and playing.

They shared toys, laughs, and Jack shared his puffs! Just a quick little visit, but we hope to see them again soon this summer.

Relaxing Sunday

First a workout. Push ups! He's constantly doing them. We think it's still just preparation for crawling :). We'll see.

And what do we have here?? OH! NEWSPAPERS! Oh the fun :). (Notice all the dirt on him! I guess we have to be better about vacuuming now that he's getting around! Whoops.)

Rural Retreat and Blacksburg

For Mother's Day and Nick's Birthday weekend we headed down to VA to visit with his family. It was so nice to spend some time with everyone, and just relax a little. Jackson has changed so much in the past few months, so it was great to spend a long weekend at home and let Jackson have fun playing with everyone.

The forecast called for rain just about everyday we were there except Saturday, so we rearranged our plans and headed to Blacksburg for the day. It was SO much fun! First, we stopped for lunch at Sonic, because I'm obsessed and we don't live near one :). We had an absolute blast with Jack on campus. We walked around, visited and paid our respects at the 4/16/07 memorial, and relaxed and fed Jack on the drillfield. It was graduation on campus that day, so Jackson especially enjoyed watching everyone on campus, and waving and yelling at anyone that would look at him. It was quite the time!

See my two teeth???

We visited the Ag Quad where Nick and I first met.

We showed Jack what Hokie stone was. He wasn't too impressed :).

9 months - 5/8/08

Jackson turned 9 months old on 5/8/08. Can you even believe it?!? We sure can't! His stats at the doctor were:

20lbs 1/2oz (50%)
28.75" (75%)

He's grown a lot and jumped percentiles in both weight and length. We all knew that though. Jack isn't one to turn away if there's food in front of him :). He has his 2 bottom teeth in completely, and is cutting both of his top eye teeth right now. Hopefully they won't be too painful for him. We're having so much fun with him these days! It's so fun to play with him and his toys and watch him interact with others. This weekend we'll probably lower is crib mattress since he's pulling up more. It now takes 2 people to take his monthly pictures since he attempts to dive off the chair, and we no longer use his monthly birthday sign because it just gets torn up :). He's not one for sitting still!

He has my heart...

...absolutely all of it.

Uncle Jason

Jackson's Uncle Jason got him his first Tonka truck. We've been waiting until Jackson was old enough to open it, and we decided it was time! It's a pretty cool toy, and converts from a push toy, to a walk behind, to a ride on! Something I'm sure he'll love for many years to come.

A little apprehensive at first.

It makes REALLY cool sounds :).

Ok, I could get the hang of this thing.

Sundays are fun days!

Some fun at the park for Riley's 2nd birthday celebration.

Mr. Messy Face

Jackson LOVES these biter biscuits (or as Nick calls them, "bitter" biscuits) that Gerber makes. LOVES! And with his bottom teeth in, he moves through them pretty fast.
What was that you said ear? You'd like some, too? Sure - I love to share!

Pulling up!

Jackson can now pull himself up to standing from sitting! He's so proud of himself whenever he does it. And since standing is his favorite thing to do in the world, he's so happy when he gets up!

So, so, so close...

...but not there quite yet. He's mastered rocking on his hands knees...

...and he backs himself up under furniture very well!

But we still do not have forward motion. He can't seem to figure out how to move his leg out from under his body. You can only imagine the frustration that ensues!

Jack Crack

Just a little Jack crack to make you smile and brighten your day! Couldn't pass this up :).
